circa 1840, with circular barrel group arranged with six inner and twelve outer barrels each notched at the muzzle for a key (absent, all barrels frozen), plain rounded breech-face with eighteen exposed rear-facing nipples, rounded boxlock action engraved with scrolled vines within a borderline panel, ring trigger with underhammer, smooth ebony bag-shaped grips (one with faint number '4086'), engraved back-strap, the front strap marked 'MARIETTE PATENT'
